Many customers don't know much about cosmetic packaging materials, and are not clear about the use and characteristics of glass bottles, hoses and plastic bottles in cosmetic packaging. Today we will briefly learn about them.

1. Glass

Glass bottles used in cosmetics are mainly divided into: skin care products (creams, lotions), perfumes, essential oils, nail polishes, and have a small capacity, basically less than 200ml. Glass bottles with a capacity greater than 200ml are rarely used in cosmetics. Glass bottles are divided into wide-mouth bottles and narrow-mouth bottles. Solid pastes generally use wide-mouth bottles, which are suitable for electroplated aluminum caps or plastic caps. The bottle caps can be used for color spraying and other effects; emulsions or aqueous pastes generally use narrow-mouth bottles, which are suitable for pump heads. If the cap is equipped, it needs to be equipped with an inner plug. The aqueous agent is equipped with a small-hole inner plug, and the thicker emulsion is equipped with a large-hole inner plug.

Combination form:

1. Cream bottle series: glass bottle + double-layer plastic outer cover (generally capacity is 10g-50g)

2. Essence series: glass bottle + plastic pump head or electroplated aluminum pump head (capacity is 20 to 100ml)

3. Toner series: glass bottle + plastic inner plug + outer cover (above 100ml, can be equipped with pump head)4. Essential oil bottle series: glass bottle + inner plug + big head cover or rubber head + dropper + electroplated aluminum cover

2. Hose

Hose is divided into single-layer, double-layer and five-layer hoses, which are different in pressure resistance, penetration resistance and hand feel. For example, the five-layer hose has an outer layer, an inner layer, two adhesive layers, and a barrier layer. Features: It has excellent gas barrier properties, can effectively prevent the infiltration of oxygen and odorous gases, and prevent the leakage of the fragrance and active ingredients of the contents.

Combination form: hose + outer cover

The hose is often made of PE plastic.

According to the thickness of the product, it is divided into single-layer tube (mostly used, low cost) and double-layer tube (good sealing performance). According to the shape of the product, it is divided into round hose (mostly used, low cost) and flat hose, also known as special-shaped tube (needs secondary joints, higher cost). The outer caps commonly used for hoses include screw caps (single-layer and double-layer, double-layer outer caps are mostly electroplated caps to increase the grade of the product, which looks more beautiful, and professional lines mostly use screw caps) and flip caps. 3. Plastic bottles Plastic bottles are usually made of PP, PE, K material, AS, ABS, acrylic, PET, etc. It is usually used for cream bottles, bottle caps, bottle plugs, gaskets, pump heads, and dust covers with thicker walls of cosmetic containers, which are injection molded; PET blow bottles are two-step molding, tube embryos are injection molded, and finished product packaging is blow bottles. Other lotion bottles and washing bottles with thinner walls are blow bottles.
